"Old school Speyside" is the best name you can get for Benromach 10 Year Old. At the distillery, which reopened in 1998 after a few years of hibernation, it has been decided to recreate the typical Speyside whiskey of the 1960s.
This involves, among other things, using a little peat in the malting process, which, true to the spirit of the sixties, gives a touch of smoke in the whiskey.
In the storage, a mixture of bourbon and sherry casks is used. Finally, the Benromach 10 Year Old gets a one-year finish on oloroso sherry casks.
