Here they have dug up an old vintage and with this 1969 you can really experience how beautiful Linkwood looks with a few years on the back.

Linkwood was founded in 1821 by a Mr. Peter Brown. In 1872, Brown's son William took over and he decided to demolish the original distillery and build a new one. For a while, nothing changed on Linkwood; one was convinced that even the smallest conditions in the distillery, both inside and outside, had an impact on the whiskey, and there were therefore strict orders that even the spider webs in the corners should not be disturbed. In the 1960s and the next, a number of renovations and new equipment were carried out. But until 1996, parts of the old distillery were still in use - for example the old worm tubs - and some believe that before 1996 Linkwood has a markedly different character from the whiskey distilled after that date - a theory the curious tastes can check with old taps from eg Gordon & MacPhail.
Since 1932, Linkwood has been owned by the company we know today as Diageo. Gordon & MacPhail are for the noble single malt what Lennon & McCartney are for pop music. For more than 100 years they have insisted on skipping where the fence is highest. The inherited sense of selecting the best dishes from a wide range of distilleries is practiced today as it was 100 years ago. Once the dish is selected, it is transported to G & M's warehouse in Elgin. Here the dish is cared for and cared for with thousands of other selected dishes until that day in the future, be it five, ten or fifty years later, when the whiskey has reached its zenith. Only here are the precious drops bottled.
