Silver seal 20 years Caroni (SOLD OUT)

This rum originates from the now defunct Caroni distillery. The Caroni Sugar Factory, located in Trinidad, was the largest and most productive asset on the island during the 18th century. Its plantations were huge and were used exclusively for sugar production. In 1918, Caroni LTD was established, where they also began to distill and drain rum. Since then, there have been several different distillers connected to Caroni. In the second half of the 1940s, for example, new wooden Coffee stills were expanded.

In 1964, the old wooden Coffey still was replaced with a pot still apparatus, and in 1979 they sought a modern Roman style and replaced it with the more modern Herman still (a continuous four-column still). Unfortunately, the state-owned Caroni went into a settlement period and definitely stopped producing rum in 2002. The stock of stuffed rum barrels, which had been forgotten at the distillery, was later acquired by, among other things. an Italian bottler to bring the forgotten spirit of Caroni back to the market.

Rum from Caroni is known to be very heavy, and is often referred to as "heavy type column still space". Classic notes in a Caroni room are; petroleum, smoke and varnish. It's not exactly notes that one usually associates with rum, but this just makes it even more interesting. Rome from Caroni tastes like nothing else. appearance: In the scent of this 20 year old rum from Caroni you will find the classic notes of petroleum and burnt oak. In addition, there are clear notes of apricot, banana, heavy spices as well as a salted expression of foam spray.

The rum goes heavily into where leather, wood and tobacco are clearly found. This Caroni is super dry and has a taste of roasted fruits including pear. A buttery obesity can be found in the aftertaste which extends very far. A very nicely balanced rum which makes it one of the most elegant rum from the Caroni distillery.
